Plain White Cake

Ingredients
  • 1 tbsp lard (rounded tablespoon)
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup sweet milk
  • 1 1/2 cup flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla

    Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease well and dust with flour an 8 or 9 inch round pan. Cream shortening and sugar. Beat in eggs, milk and vanilla. Sift flour baking powder and stir into shortening mixture. Bake for 30-35  minutes or until toothpick poked in center comes out clean. Cool and frost.
